Inspiration
Helena’s dreamt of being a children’s TV presenter right from the moment she could talk. Growing up with her disabled brother, Helena found comfort, inspiration and encouragement from watching the likes of: Anna Williamson, Connie Huck, Matt Baker, Angelica Bell, Chris Jarvis, Mark Speight and Michaela Strachan. Helena believed that if they could do it, so could she and from a young age strived to spread joy and laughter through stories, jokes and the occasional (ok weekly) homemade shows. Seeing others laugh in particular her brother, developed a burning desire to inspire others in an inclusive and engaging way. 20 something years later and Helena’s passion for inspiring others, encouraging kindness, empathy, creativity and confidence has become a core part of who she is. Helena’s presenter inspirations now include the likes of: Joanna Adeyinka-Burford, Maddie Moate, Olivia Birchenough, Evie Pickerill, Nigel Clark and Gemma Hunt.
As a neurodivergent person living with multiple chronic health conditions (otherwise known as invisible disabilities), Helena’s passionate not only about raising awareness, but representing those in similar circumstances. She aspires to give back to the industry that helped her as a child and be that encouraging role model for siblings of disabled children as well as the neurodiverse community and those living with allergies and/or invisible disabilities.
Creating fun, positive and educational content for family audiences online, is a core passion for Helena, including her popular ‘Come bake with me’ videos and her soon to be launching ‘Helena hikes, but why?’ series. An adventurous documentary style video, where we follow Helena as she explores the length and breadth of the UK, uncovering weird and wonderful facts that most never question. Going behind the scenes to discover answers about how and why these weird and wonderful things happen.
